Stonehenge Grecian

Yep, I know the two terms together don’t make much sense.. historically.  But aesthetically I think they line up nicely. :)

Here are some samples from the series.

It is personal work.  After seeing a lot of Grecian glam fashion influences out there this season, (& having scouted the WA Stonehenge recently), I decided to put a project together.

My team did a great job to create the look, Stacy Zimmerman was our wardrobe stylist, Stace Quach did the makeup, and Meghann Oliberos was on hair.  The model is gorgeous, Talisa @ SMG.

It’s a difficult thing with personal work, because you want everything to turn out just right, perfect like you imagined.   Circumstances change, you’re dealing with numerous variables that are often simply beyond your control.

Overall I’m happy with the results. I like how some aspects of it came out, ie the technical specs, the contrast and pop, I think the images come across as ‘high impact’. However, I do recognize that the story is a bit lost.   Originally I wanted a more consistently soft, youthful, & playful character and mood… a very free, seductive, yet graceful creature. The character became simplified, & in danger of being just another pretty face.  The images became more static, with a more simplistic ‘here I am’ effect, instead of adding more to the story.

Connectivity to the viewer is paramount, a reason to Feel something, & in this way I failed.  Hopefully though, you’ll enjoy it for what it is!

  1. Alex, great photos man. It sounds like you were looking to get a different vibe out of these images, but I have to say they are stunning. Would love to get together up in Seattle or down here again if your in the area. Adios! -C
